چکیده

Phytoremediation, as a bioremediation process in which plants are used to remove contaminants from an environment, has proved be practical and low-cost strategy for recovering mining-affected areas. This study aims assess the potential use phytoremediation of two willow species, Salix viminalis dasyclados, by testing their cleaning-up range soils with differing heavy metal concentrations: Pb (111, 141, 192 249 mg /kg), Zn (778.6, 1482, 2734 4411 mg/kg) Cd (3.00, 5.03, 9.14 16.07 mg/kg). The extracted metals were preferentially translocated leaves considerably higher concentrations relative BAFs case S. viminalis. highest recorded concentration over 0.5% was found growing soil 4. However, under conditions experiments, dasyclados showed greater phytoremediation, especially if coupled biomass energy production. An assessment suitability species this role, regard wider aspects involved, such resultant and/or waste management, revealed good potential. Willows fast growing, grow vigorously coppiced stumps have extensive root systems. Therefore, bioenergy production through pyrolysis or combustion, flue gas screening, is strongly advised.

Ability of some crops for phytoremediation of nickel and zinc heavy metals from contaminated soils

The present study was aimed at comparing the ability of three crop plants for phytoremediation of zinc (Zn) and nickel (Zn) from soils. A factorial (3×2×3) experiment based on RCBD was used to compare the treatments, and was repeated three times. The first factor was crop type (wheat, clover and rapeseed), the second factor was heavy metal types (zinc (Zn) and nickel (Ni)) and the third factor ...

The arbuscular mycorrhizal status of poplar clones selected for phytoremediation of soils contaminated with heavy metals.

The aim of this work was to study the colonization of indigenous arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) species in fine-roots of poplar clones. Roots of 7 poplar clones were sampled from a 1-year-old trial established at an industrial site strongly polluted with heavy metals at Balatonfuzfo, Hungary. The poplar clones have shown variable degrees of colonization by AMF, suggesting differential host ...
